Far Niente Winery is located in Oakville, an area famous for Napa Valley Cabernet, and home to our estate Martin Stelling Vineyard from which we’ve been producing our Cabernets since 1982. The abundant 2012 vintage is approachable, even in its youth, with bold, ripe, fruit and mouth-filling tannins typical of the Far Niente house style. After several cool and challenging growing seasons, the weather in 2012 was nearly perfect. March brought heavy spring rains, sustaining the vines through the season. Temperatures were ideal for budbreak, flowering and fruit set, and the summer months brought warm days and cool nights without extreme weather events. These conditions allowed the vines to establish a large, but balanced crop, which steadily ripened until our Cabernet harvest began in early October. Mother Nature held back on her fall rains, enabling us to bring in each block at optimal ripeness before the end of the month. The 2012 Far Niente Cabernet Sauvignon opens with aromas of mixed berry fruit, boysenberry, chocolate covered cherries, layered with hints of graphite and toasted oak. On the palate, a smooth entry is followed by intense, ripe berry notes. This wine is focused and silky through the midpalate, building to a finish with broad tannins and notes of cedar and toasted oak.

This year’s uncut and unfiltered Thomas H. Handy was distilled in the spring of 2015, aged 6 years in warehouses I, L, O, and K, and bottled at 129.5 proof. "The flavor profile includes anise and cinnamon with a rich finish of spearmint and chocolate," says the distillery.

This year marks the long-awaited return of Leroux’s Nuits-Saint-Georges wines to our offer (the 1er Cru Aux Boudots is offered below). In generous years, Leroux can vinify four Nuits-Saint-Georges wines: this blend of climats, a villages lieu-dit Les Allots and two 1er Cru wines from Aux Thorey and Les Boudots. This year’s blend is a roughly equal split between Aux St. Jacques and Aux Herbues on the Vosne border, and a parcel in the northern part of Fleurières, just south of the town. It should come as no surprise that Leroux’s Nuits taste nothing like the classic rugged stereotype. Instead, you can expect the kind of supple elegance and poise this grower brings to all his wines. 

The Opus One 2017 offers a harmonious aromatic balance of rich dark fruit, stems of roses, and earthy forest floor. The juicy entry offers a round, silky mouthfeel with just enough acidity to complement the satin texture. This seductive wine shows flavors of black cassis, black cherry and a hint of cocoa powder. The fine-grained, plush tannins evolve into a long, supple finish.

The 2019 Kamen Estate Cabernet offers a dazzling array of aromatics. Raspberry pie, strawberry compote, espresso bean, candied cherries and marzipan are at the forefront. As the wine evolves in the glass, beautiful notes of violets and lavender pop, elevating the opulent fruit. Notes of new suede, black cardamom and dark chocolate add complexity to the layers.

The flavors are sumptuous and wrapped in an envelope of mouthwatering minerality. A framework of seamless tannins complete this incredibly balanced wine and the finish is layered and savory. Somewhat youthful, decanting is recommended. Enjoy over the next 15–20 years.

It is a radiant Cristal champagne that is emerging, already quite a charmer yet still with such immense potential ahead of it. Of Domaine Cristal’s 45 historical vineyard plots, only 39 were selected to go into the final blend this year, those in which the grapes reflected the true identity of this unique wine: purity of fruit, remarkable finesse and elegant length.

Cristal owes this loyalty to the soil to its permanence. It is a wine that is rooted in the eternal, that of the seasons, a ripening cycle, a heritage and a quest. The quest for excellence, purity and harmony, to create a wine that vibrates in tune with its terroir and mirrors its qualities. All that remains is for the cellar master to adjust this resonance, to give the wine the most fitting ageing process to allow it to vibrate at the highest level.

 Aged in French oak barrels, as opposed to the American oak that remains the stylistic signature of both Silver Oak Cabs, it was to be an elegant, rather Bordeaux-leaning wine that also would preserve the essential character- the Napa Valley-ness- of the patchwork of six vineyard parcels that make up the core of the property.  Now in its third vintage, we are presented with the 2019 Timeless, the most outstanding bottling to date; a Napa Valley wine for the ages.  

The Iconic Napa Valley red, Quintessa is a Cabernet Sauvignon blend from estate vineyards in the heart of the Rutherford Bench district. The estate is farmed using organic and biodynamic techniques, and each year they make a deeper connection between the soils and the terroir, interpreting the property holistically.

The wine is a blend that can include some or all of the five varietals grown on the estate: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Carmenere. Fruit from each component block of Quintessa is harvested, sorted, then gravity fed into either oak or stainless steel fermentation tanks. Once fermentation and maceration are complete, each block of wine is aged separately for up to two years in French oak barrels. After aging, the components are brought together and the final blend is created.

This 2018 is the latest release. It's a blend of  92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 2% Carmenere and 1% Petit Verdot aged 20 months in 62% new French oak barrels.

James Suckling scored this 99 points saying "This is beautifully polished with firm, dusty tannins to the blue fruit, as well as chocolate and cedar character. Some much earthier character, too, from mushrooms to bark. Forest flowers. Perfumed. It’s full-bodied with round tannins and a soft, creamy finish. Some iron and iodine to this. So attractive at the finish. From biodynamically grown grapes."

Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored this 98 points saying "This is an exceptional vintage of this exceptional wine, its foundation built around 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, with dustings of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Beautiful in berry fruit, textured and refined tannin and hints of lavender, licorice and sage, it has complexity and energy in equal measure, lengthy and beautifully focused, a truly impressive achievement of site, vintage and winemaker."

The 2015 vintage is a testament to the resilience and expertise of the house. The growing season was marked by intense heat and drought during the summer months, followed by timely rains in August that revived the vines just in time for harvest. This resulted in a Champagne with remarkable richness, precision, and energy, embodying the House’s signature balance between intensity and elegance.

Winemaker's Notes

Dom Pérignon Vintage 2015 is a masterpiece of balance and complexity, offering an intricate aromatic profile that unfolds with layers of roasted and cocoa notes, delicately intertwined with floral aromas of lime blossom, jasmine, and peony. A bouquet of spices, including aniseed and cardamom, adds depth, while a fresh, fruity vibrancy emerges through hints of orange and green papaya. The palate is marked by an exquisite interplay of breadth and delicacy, where notes of peach, nectarine, citrus, and gentian create a harmonious blend, lending the wine both richness and finesse. This well-structured cuvée, composed of 51% Pinot Noir and 49% Chardonnay, captures the essence of its exceptional terroirs, offering a refined and unforgettable tasting experience.

"Our Cabernet is perhaps the most complex wine we make, and it is certainly the wine that takes the most time to reach its full expression before bottling. This vintage is no different, as the process began almost three years ago with bud break in March of 2018. We had a beautiful and consistent growing season at Shifflett Ranch, with no heat spikes and plenty of cool nights, combined with a warm summer and plenty of foggy mornings. After bringing in the fruit in early October, we gently processed the grapes with an extended maceration before aging in 80% new French oak for 23 months. The result is an intensely aromatic wine with layers of red, black, and blue fruit. The wine is drinking great now, however, if you prefer an aged wine, we would absolutely recommend laying this one down in the cellar for 10-15 years."

The estate of G.D. Vajra, situated in Vergne the highest village in the Commune of Barolo, was established in 1972 by Giuseppe Domenico. Milena and Aldo Vaira are the current owners. Both have worked the vineyards since the early 1970s. Vajra currently owns 40 sustainably farmed hectares in such strategic spots as Bricco delle Viole, Fossati, La Volta, Coste di Vergne. The vineyards are planted with Nebbiolo, Dolcetto and Barbera at elevations between 350-400 meters, which results in distinctive and aromatic wines. Their philosophy remains faithful to the traditional wines of Piedmont. "I try to make wines that give people joy. In the past wine was a food, it was necessary for sustenance. Today that is not the case; we choose to drink for pleasure. I want to make wines that bring people happiness.

From 15 plots, more in the bottom, plus some Clous and Vireuils. Pale lemon with stones and ripe white fruit mingling. Riper and fatter on the palate but with a balanced generosity that is even across the whole palate. Still in white fruit, agreeably rounded with just a hint of sandalwood from the barrel to finish. Enough energy to fit alongside the flesh.

A unique limited edition of Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame 2012 designed by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. It is with its iconic symbols, the flower and the polka dots, that Yayoi Kusama adorns La Grande 2012 gift box and bottle. The polka dots, Yayoi Kusama's signature patterns evoke the Champagne bubbles. Created in honor of Madame Clicquot called "La Grande Dame de Champagne" in her time, La Grande Dame perfectly expresses the Maison's love for Pinot Noir.

Initial notes of white flowers on the nose, such as jasmine, honeysuckle and vine flowers can be felt and then opens with fruitier nuances of apple, pear and peach. A few notes of fresh almond and frangipane complete the bouquet. In the mouth, the cuvée reveals more complex aromas: dried apricot, hazelnuts, honey and sugar candy. Silky textures give the wine its personality, elegance and character. The aging has imparted particular depth and power to the wine.

La Grande Dame matches perfectly with freshly picked vegetables, herbs and fruits, offering endless possibilities thanks to a wide aromatic palette. "Grands Crus" vegetables for Grands Crus grapes. Master’s Keep Voyage is a 106-proof expression of 10-year-old bourbon finished with a secondary maturation period in Jamaican rum casks, marking the first rum cask finish in Wild Turkey’s history. Crafted by Master Distiller Eddie Russell in partnership with Dr. Joy Spence, the renowned Master Blender of Appleton Estate rum, Voyage reflects over 80 combined years of experience in crafting exceptional spirits. This one-of-a-kind Kentucky Straight bourbon whiskey draws inspiration from the lush isle of Jamaica and showcases the expertise of two masters of their craft.
The aim with Master’s Keep Voyage was to create a unique spirit that captured the hallmarks of both bourbon and rum-making. To do so Dr. Joy Spence hand selected some of the finest casks from the iconic Jamaican rum house – casks which previously held 14-year-old pot still rum and would best complement the bold top notes and rich caramel undertones of Wild Turkey’s extra-aged bourbons. The casks were then brought to the Wild Turkey Distilling Co. in Lawrenceburg, KY, where they were filled with Eddie Russell’s own hand selected batch of 10-year-old bourbon, which had been aged in Wild Turkey’s classic No. 4 char barrels. After finishing in the Kentucky heat of a timber rickhouse, the result is a tropically influenced American icon, bursting with a palate of fruits, caramel and aged oak, and a warm, long-lasting finish of chocolate and spice.
